Ronan’s Track of the Week (18 September 2017)

My track of the Week, which we played on Monday’s show, is ‘Up All Night’ from the new album from ‘The War on Drugs‘. Released as a single last month, it’s a stunning track, which wears its influences on its sleeve. Bob Dylan is the obvious one, though to my ear the influence appears to be the less fashionable Dylan material from the 1980s. It’s not pastiche in any way; the music is far too good for that. The track is taken from the band’s fourth album, ‘A Deeper Understanding’, their first on ‘major label’ Atlantic Records – an it’s an album that gets a solid ‘thumbs up’ from Shush.
